Re: Roller CoasterMy carcinoid tumors, too, did not all show up on scans. Luckily, they were found and debulked with surgery. Primary was also found then. Good luck to you. I take the Sandostatin religiously and have for the past 3 years. You are in my prayers.

Re: Roller CoasterBest of luck to you!
My wife had a lung carcinoid removed in '05 and has had symptoms of a recurrence (more flushing and pain in her ribcage) since last summer. Her "new" tumor can't be located yet and the Drs don't seem to believe it is a recurrence. So we know what you mean about a "roller coaster." We know what we're seeing but can't get the Drs to act. At least you have doctors who will act and that can make a major difference. Keep up the good fight!
Re: Roller CoasterHi!
I had carcinoid tumor of ileum and bowel resected 4 years ago. Did your wife have an octreotide scan done? I ahd one done just recently as my tumor levels rose above normal, but the scan came back normal. I, to have pain under my left ribcage which feels like pressure and hurts allot if I lay on my back. I am going to have a CT scan to see whatt the problem is. hopefully it is not my pancreas. Anyhoo good luck and God Bless! Diana
