I have always been a very very hot natured person and have sweated a great deal in the heat. In my mid forties while living in Southern CA I decided to take up tennis and even in cool mornings of play I would get nauseaus, headachey and sweat a great deal. I would err on the side of caution and have the urinary 5HIAA test. I would also be grateful that your doctor even considered a carcinoid tumour. Most family doctors haven't heard of them since they were in medical school. The problem with carcinoid tumours is that they are slow growing and produce few symptoms until they spread, often to the liver. Go along with your doctor and get it ruled out. If your doc wants to refer you to an endocrinologist, see them too. It's your life, so let the experts guide you. Then you can relax and know the the flushing is probably menopausal and not cancer!
