Cancer Pain - Bone

I have Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer It has spread to my liver and bone (right femur and L1). I have pain in my right leg and back. I also have Spinal Stenosis and Spondylothesis. After test results and an epidural for the spine problems, my doc is not sure whether the pain in my right leg is due to the cancer or the spinal stenosis. They prescribed Vicodin and Lyrica for nerve pain. Has anyone found meds that work and have less side effects? Can you describe the bone cancer pain so I can differentiate?
