Cancer Disappeared!?

Post a new topicby nara_raj53 on Wed May 07, 2008 2:51 am

Dear All,

I am new to this site and would like to have some opinions on my condition. I was diagnosed with IIIB Breast Cancer (Lump size 7 cm) with multiple liver mets. The Doctor suggested an initial 6 cycles of Chemo (TAC). The chemos started in Novemver 2007. After 4 chemos, clinical exmination showed that the lump disappeared and the multiple liver mets reduced to a solitary met on the right lobe of the liver.

After 6 chemos (they ended in March 08), the PET-CT shows "No Active Disease in the body". So the doctor asked me to take 2 additional chemos (TC without A) and report after 6 months.

What does this mean? Am I cancer free as of now? the CA 15.3 was 20 in march and was 25 in February. All other blood related pathalogical tests are normal. But they were always normal. The Liver size, shape and functions were all normal since the beginning. I am 37 years of age.

Any opinion would be welcome.
