temporal lobe cancer

Post a new topicby Barrye on Sat Oct 25, 2008 9:06 pm

My story is long and my typing is bad. It all started in 2002 with kidney cell carcinoma. Then to 2004
with lung cancer from the kidney. Then 2005 with a cerebellum tumor. Then 2007 with another inner tumor of the brain where the spinal fluid is made. Next came another cerebellum tumor this summer and now I have been told I have two tumors of the temporal lobe. I had spinal knife for the second tumor but am being told that it will not work on these new tumors. They are talking about removing my left temporal lobe completely. I have been doing a lot of reading trying to stay ahead of everything. But for once I am scared of this being the final battle. I just turned 56 in July. Have been married 34 years to a loving wife and have two sons 27 and 21. I still have lung tumors also but we have been using SUTENT to fight them and have been on it for over 3 years. It works on the lungs but not the brain. Does anyone know of anyone who has had their lobe removed. What where the effects? Is it worth going through ? I am ready to call it quits. I don't want my wife to have to become a bed nurse and I don't want to see my boys suffer for my sake. These tumors are located in my right lobe. They will affect my speaking, language, listening, reading and writing. I will also have a severe problem recalling words and names. I am a strong Christian follower and love the Lord. But like I said I am scared this time. Please any help would be appreciated.
