Please HELP ME! NEED ADVICE!!!

Post a new topicby happyhappyhappy on Wed Mar 04, 2009 8:27 pm

I had my second craniotomy 12/4/2008 to remove a right temporal lobe astrocytoma. This time it was a grade 4 and my neuro could not get it all. I just finished radiation and chemo and I am terrified!

I have 9 year old twins. The three of us are currently living in my parent's garage because everyone around me totally freaked out! It just hit me.... I may be dying very soon.

What do I do? Up until now I had a cancer shmancer attitude. After my first surgery in 2005 I had TONS of problems. Temporal lobe seizures vertigo confusion, severe mood swings, all of my senses were on overdrive, I heard voices and my nose hallucinated!

After this recent surger all of that just stopped! I feel better than I have since July 21, 2005 and now I am supposed to prepare to die? I will be 38 years old in June.

I am so sared and alone! Should I plan to die or just live as long and as well as I can????? Any advice is welcome please!

Thank you!

Never say DIE!!! Want to to live, make it your goal and be positive and stay strong and focussed. Life is sweet and you have a right to live, fight it and beat it, want to live to see your children grow. Say you have nothing wrong with you and make your brain believe there is noting wrong.....change your attitute and live ach day lauging and doing what you love mos with your loved ones! LIVE....fight it....it's the power of the brain.

I wish I knew what to say.

I am about to undergo my second craniotomy sometime this summer, and I feel for you and your children. I too am scared of the outcome, if the surgeon can remove all of the tumor.

Please know that you are not alone in your fears and worries.

I do not know if you are religious, but I will keep you in my prayers.

Don't You dare give up!
My mother-in-law is just at day three of her radiation therapy having had most of her brain tumor removed at a very significant clinic in the US. The oncologist earlier gave her the dreaded 'one year' forecast based on experience!
Well I don't accept that one year - and so I am researching like crazy online. I have to tell You that there is an amazing amount going on in the world with new treatments and therapies and just an awful lot of light at the end of the tunnel.
My favorite at the moment is low dose naltrexone (ldn) but the American medical fraternity seems to be unwilling to embrace it ,let alone even look at it. Now ,at this moment I can't say that it is a cure for You necessarily but a lot of stuff spins off from these things, and actually this simple drug appears to be so amazing and 'so unharmful' that I think we should all be taking it just like people take Bayer aspirin!

And there is so much more coming down the Pike!
There is a forum at www.ldn.com and another one at www.LDN_4_cancer@yahoogoups.com

I would love to tell you more now but I am racing down some threads for Mom but I willl pop back tomorrow and check to see how much You have been researching also. If we all pull together WE CAN BEAT THIS STUFF -GUARANTEED!! Literally if we pooled the amazing resources of the internet we could beam ourselves to the moon!
