Brain Surgery and EyesightMy daughter had a tumor on the left cerebellum, and as a result it caused her to have hydrocephalus. She underwent surgery to remove the mass last January. The doctors said the tumor was completely removed and the official biopsy result of the tumor is said to be benign (pilocytic astrocytoma). CT Scan after surgery revealed that the CSF has subsided greatly, but not completely. The doctors said time is needed for it to completely subside.
It's been almost three weeks already after the surgery and her recovery is going smoothly EXCEPT for her eyesight, which I don't think is improving. She can't see clearly using her right eye, and her left eye has limited vision depending on the distance. Check up on her eyes and at the back of the eyes reveal everything is normal. Her doctor told us to give her 1 month to recover fully, but we are getting impatient and we need a second opinion on this matter. Will the condition of my daughter's eyes improve and be back to normal after a month? Please advise. Thanks.
