How to deal with a parent

My mom has bladder cancer and the doctor thinks she should get her bladder out. She now has an aggressive type of cancer. She is in her late 70s and wants to ignore the whole thing. I don't know how much to push her and how much to let her be. I'm afraid that the cancer should metastasize and get really nasty. However I'm sure getting her bladder out will be no piece of cake either. Any suggestions?
